Healing a diseased system
Fix ObamaCare.
For many people, the price of health insurance has skyrocketed with less choices than promised - while the government forces citizens to pay the price or face a penalty. I stand for allowing you to take charge of your health care by giving incentives to insurance companies that offer tailored plans in the marketplace at all price and service levels that fit different needs. A 20 year old and a 60 year old don’t want or need the same plan, and as young people reject current plans because they can’t afford them, the idea of insurance for everyone has failed. Let’s replace ObamaCare with real incentives for real plans for real people.

Prevent socialized medicine.
Socialized medicine means low quality health care, long lines, less qualified doctors, and government control over your health and life decisions. When a doctor is performing surgery on you, I want to ensure that doctor has every incentive and desire to give his best effort to keep you healthy. You should be able to decide your health options, not a government computer. I will make sure opportunity and personal decisions remain at the core of our healthcare system. You are in control of your health, not the government.

Avoid stifling innovation in the medical field.
We are living in an era highlighted by an exponential boost in technology innovation, and America is at the forefront of this development. I hope to further fuel this innovation and keep America in this economically advantageous position by providing additional attention to the development of technical research at public universities and various nationwide competitions that reward and nurture new innovations in biomedical technology. This increased focus will increase the health and well-being of future generations, while simultaneously bringing billion-dollar industries to America’s doorstep.

Protect Privacy.
No American should ever have to worry about their private medical record being shared. I will fight for your right to privacy. While many new innovations in technology call for the increased sharing of personal information with large corporations and third party researchers, I will strive to protect consumers by giving them a meaningful choice to keep their personal information private - your information is only shared when you approve it, on your terms. In this way, the core American values that our country lays upon are still obeyed and protected, just like the framers of our constitution intended.

Renegotiate drug prices for medicare and medicaid.
The government is the single biggest purchaser of pharmaceutical drugs through the Medicare and Medicaid programs. It has the power to use that leverage in our capitalist system to negotiate lower prices to giant drug companies for medicines that citizens need—saving taxpayer dollars and making crucial treatments available to more people. Traditional supply and demand principles—not bureaucratic favoritism—should determine your drug prices. I will have the guts to take on the powerful drug lobby to use the full power of their biggest drug customer to get a better deal for the American people.
