I was born in February of 1975. Growing up as an only child in a time of recession meant that I had to work three jobs to support myself and my parents. I worked hard and was accepted into Harvard, where I earned degrees in economics and political science.

At the age of 23, I joined the army, just as my father had done before me. After nine years of service, I moved into the public life and became a Senator in the U.S. Congress for my home state of Florida.

During the first of my two terms as Senator, I married my wife, Darlene. Since then, we've had three sons, Frederick, Gilbert, and Wallace.
